Originally constructed in 1983, this 22-story highrise office building houses regional offices of U.S. government agencies.
CDC provided Commissioning services that included witnessing of mock-up installation and testing, and reporting based on the observations; shop drawing, calculation, and submittal reviews; factory and site observations; and developing a commissioning plan and report in conjunction with Jacobs overall commissioning activity. Prior to the commissioning work, CDC provided services to the Architect for evaluation of the existing structure and facade systems, and development of initial concept designs for implementation - to overclad the existing building and/or install a new curtain wall system. CDC also assisted in establishing early and preliminary performance criteria. When the project was further funded, CDC provided the Architect with consulting services to develop bridging documents (Architectural Drawings and Specifications). Consideration was given to the design in order to erect the wall system from the exterior, without having to displace tenants until later removal of interior walls.
