Project Description
This hospital was originally constructed in 1972 as a 265-bed hospital, designed to allow for expansion without a loss of functionality and aesthetics. Since its inception, the façade experienced thermal performance issues. Over the years, various remedial strategies were attempted with little success.
Scope of Services
CDC performed a survey of the facade to evaluate the existing conditions with a particular focus on the thermal performance of the windows and drafts caused by a chimney effect at the precast pilasters. Additionally, CDC performed several thermal analyses to select conditions to illustrate the problems. Our report and recommendations then became the basis for the future plan to replace windows and insulate the precast panels.
