Project Description

The $75 million NOAA Center for Climate and Weather Prediction Building was designed to achieve LEED Silver certification. The building is 280,000 square feet and is located within a 130-acre research park, which is adjacent to the University of Maryland. This 7.5-acre project was administered by the GSA.

Scope of Services

CDC provided system design, shop drawings, and engineering for the unitized radius sloped curtain wall, punch windows, ribbon windows, and storefront. The system featured horizontal sunshades at two-foot centers on the curtain wall. The sloped radius curtain wall transitions to a flatwall at the building corners. The systems are designed to withstand environmental, seismic, and blast loads.
