Description & Requirements
The Building Envelope Consultant visits various types of construction jobsites to observe and report on the installation, repair and testing of Building Envelope components such as Roofing, Waterproofing, Façade Elements, Façade Coatings, Sealants and Glazing. Preferred candidate will have a deep construction background and general familiarity with common construction practices in residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
- Previous experience in a forensic consulting role is desired.
- Able to read, understand, and produce technical specifications, architectural and structural drawings.
- Should be familiar with typical jobsite conditions in Hawaii and able to work outdoors in the field observing installation on construction sites; performing existing wall, roofing and waterproofing condition surveys and diagnostic testing in accordance with industry standards.
- Able to communicate, work independently and productively within a team environment.
- Must be proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Teams with good communication and grammar skills. AutoCad skills would be preferred.
- Some inter-island travel is required (at company’s expense).
- Must be able to work on, around, over and under fixed equipment and to work at heights from lifts and ladders.
- Physical demands associated with this position include extensive walking, lifting & carrying medium weighted materials (up to 30 lbs.), bending over to record field data, lifting and transporting equipment by hand.
- Ability and willingness to work in adverse weather or temperature conditions, hazardous environments, confined spaces and on uneven terrain. Must be able to wear and work in personal protective equipment.
- Valid HI driver’s license and able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
- Ability to work overtime or weekends when required to complete projects.
