Project Description
The 30-year-old granite facade on the UMASS Medical Center and Medical School was suffering from water infiltration behind the stone cladding, and required remediation to both repair the building and bring it up to the architectural standards of other, newer buildings on the campus.
Scope of Services
CDC provided consulting services regarding the design solution of removal of the stone cladding, establishment of a new air/water barrier plane at exposed structure, replacement of granite with limestone at some areas, and installation of a custom double-wall curtain wall system in the remaining facade areas.
