The Yawkey Center for Cancer Care is a new, 15-story health care facility at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute on the campus of Harvard Medical School. The facade is comprised of unitized aluminum curtain wall with integral terra cotta tiles, panelized terra cotta on steel framing, and ground level features of stick-built, structural silicone glazed aluminum curtain walls and granite clad on steel framed panels.
CDC was retained by Dana-Farber to provide peer review of architectural documents, review of shop drawings, observations and reporting of test mock-up, in-plant and on-site quality assurance observations, and field water testing during construction. CDC's involvement in the project spanned from design development to completion, and led to participation in the same role for the re-cladding and repurposing of the Dana and Smith Buildings across Jimmy Fund Way.
